Not gonna lie... my last office had a ratty old couch in the back where the ginormous printing press used to be. I’d go back there to take naps all the damned time. Especially when I worked splits.

The office before that? Was kept at ridiculously cold temperatures to protect all the machinery. I’d take a blanket and pump music through the house system very loudly (I worked overnights, so no one was around to get annoyed).

I’m trying to convince my coworkers at my current office to go halfsies with me on a garage sale or CL couch so we can take naps in the back here.

Same here, the owner just went to lunch with his family, and we’re dead slow. We’re actually discussing closing the doors and drinking beer while he’s gone, he can come back to a “Merry Christmas” on the chalkboard out front.

Our IT guy used to blast music through the phone system when he worked at night. He forgot he had given one of our remote employees a company phone hooked up to the same system, so every so often she’d be jolted awake to death metal at her house at 3am.

At one of my previous jobs they gave me a beeper. Mind you, this was well after cellphones had become ‘a thing.’ I was supposed to keep it on me 24/7. I never did. I was like, why? I’ve got a cellphone. If you beep me, I’m going to use my cellphone to call you back and ask you what the emergency is, so why don’t you cut out the middle man and save both of us some time?
